Introducing myself

My name is Anna-Carin and I live in Sweden.
I´ve been living with AS since 2003. Just found this forum and I´m excited to be here. Bear with me on grammar and misspelling.
I´m into diet, science and excercise. My personal view on medications is to stay away from them as much as possible. By that I´m just saying that I am trying to find other solutions for myself, I am NOT advocating that everybody should avoid medications.
Mentally, it´s hard, it´s really hard. And It´s quite difficult explaining all the aspects to this diagnosis to someone who has not experienced this. That is why it is so great that this forum exists.
Everyday battling pain and exhaustion, could cause one to easily find themself in a dark, dark hole. I actually did try to take my life, self medicate with drugs and alcohol and other destructive behaviours. It´s been a long time since, so I do not have any problems discussing these kind of topics also, if someone wishes to do so.
I´m just gonna try and give support in here wherever I can.

Hi Anna-Carin! It's great to meet you. Thanks for sharing so much about yourself. Sounds like you are taking really good care of yourself. You've been through a lot, it sounds like you went through a really dark time. Glad you found your way to a more optimistic attitude. Nobody understands AS like someone who is walking the same road. I hope you will stay in touch with us.
